DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MICROBIOLOGY


1. About the Department:

The department has been established as per VCI norms to B.V.Sc & A.H. Degree Program. It also undertakes diagnostic works, research and extension in the field of Veterinary Microbiology. It is also involved in skill development and capacity building programmes. It provides training in Veterinary Bacteriology, Mycology, Immunology & Serology, Virology and Microbial Biotechnology.

3. Facilities Available/ Department Sections:

The department is well equipped with all basic (Laminar flow cabinets, BOD, CO2 incubator, centrifuges, water baths, egg incubator, egg drilling machines, inverted microscope, deep fridge, hot air oven, autoclaves, Immunoelectrophoresis apparatus etc.) and advance equipments (PCR, ELISA reader, PAGE, Blotting, Refrigerated centrifuge, Ultrasonicator, Lyophiliseretc) for undergraduate teaching and research work. There are three laboratories set up as per MSVE 2016 guidelines viz. Veterinary virology lab, Immunology and Serology lab and Veterinary Bacteriology & Mycology lab.
